Registration of interest for Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles for NZ Indoor Hockey National Squads.
These positions are voluntary positions.
We are looking for well organised individuals to assist with leading and supporting our National Indoor and Age Group squads as they prepare to attend Nkosi Cup in South Africa in December 2025.
We need people who can develop and run our squad camps (dates and locations already known) and produce a competitive international team for the Nkosi Cup in Cape Town South Africa.
We are currently reviewing the JD for the coaching roles but the broad guidelines are:
- Lead the preparation of the team to compete at Nkosi Cup
- Experience around national and international campaigns as a player and/or coach or support person
- Coordinate communications to the team and coaching staff relating to camps and competition.
- Lead with other designated people the selection of the Nkosi Cup squad
- Ensure connection with offshore members of the wider squad.
- Adhere to selection policy and other relevant team policies and procedures

We are a lean organisation. Coaches do a lot, have demands put on them and require good resilience. Personal characteristics required include:
- Good understanding of Indoor Hockey
- A High-Performance attitude
- Demanding in terms of expectations of the team and individuals within it.
- Effective people management skills
- Sense of humour.
